Regular dental cleanings by a professional Dental Hygienist are important to both your oral and overall health. Prevention and early detection are the keys to avoiding tooth decay and gum disease. Our Hygienists teach patients to maintain a proper routine of daily hygiene at home and to have professional cleanings twice a year to remove plaque and tartar that can lead to gingivitis and periodontal disease.
During a Hygiene visit, the hygienist will complete a thorough cleaning of your teeth then Dr. McAllister will examine your mouth and view digital x-rays to check for any problems such as gum disease, tooth decay, or oral cancer and make recommendations for treating any problems that are found.
Keeping teeth clean and gums healthy will reduce the risk of tooth decay and periodontal disease. Regular check-ups will help identify problems early so that problems can be fixed before they lead to even more problems.
