Dr. John McAllister, a dentist in Hickory, has earned Fellowship status in The International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). This status is an honor which the ICOI bestows on a dentist after completing the required education, research and clinical experience to place and restore dental implants. Dental implants look like natural teeth and are used to replace missing teeth, or provide a support for bridges or dentures.

Local Dentists Support Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry

The First District Dental Society made a charitable contribution to the Greater Hickory Christian Cooperative Ministry (CCM) to help support free dental clinics and to make a difference in the lives of lower-income and uninsured residents in Western North Carolina.

Dr. John McAllister, a member of both the Dental Society and a board member of CCM, presented a check at the CCM Board of Directors meeting on April 21, 2010. In a letter to CCM, Dr. Jennifer E. Key, President of the First District Dental Society of North Carolina, stated that the Dental Society has a duty to support programs that serve those who will otherwise go without care. The Dental Society hopes to make future contributions to CCM to aid those who need help in our community.

Dental Office Moves to New Location

Dr. John McAllister announces that his dental practice, McAllister Dentistry, has relocated to a newly built office in Viewmont. The new location is 1235 4^th St. Dr. NW, and this new building provides more rooms, upgraded equipment, and advanced technology to better serve patients and improve care. Dr. McAllister sees patients from the 4 county area and is accepting new patients for family, cosmetic and implant dentistry. While focusing on overall care for patient’s of all ages, Dr. McAllister has extensive training and experience in placing and restoring dental implants, as well as cosmetic procedures such as tooth colored restorations, all porcelain crowns and veneers.
